A few photos of me with friends, doing what I love to do – party and sing!
ROCS (RMIT Occasional Choral Society) has been my home choir for a number of years, and whenever I’m in Melbourne I still try to go back and sing. They’re the best bunch of people you could find.
The choir has made a name for itself internationally for its support of up and coming young composers, as well as for having a large percentage of its own choristers who are composers and noted musicologists themselves, including Philip Legge, Sandra Bogerd, Michael Winikoff, me (!!) and Theresa Wallner.
Michael and I first met in 1993, and even then I was blown away by his talent – he’s one of the most accomplished musicians I’ve ever met.
After time, I came to learn he had other virtues as well, and we married in 1998.
It was the best decision of my life, and every day I am thankful that he chose me to share his journey.
I came to composition through a love of choir and singing, and I still sing when I can. This photo shows a group of close friends having a great time singing at a choir camp revue.
There’s nothing better than standing up in front of a microphone and singing your heart out with a bit of jazz!
